Kids and church

As we grow as a church, we are committed to growing a Childrens’ Ministry for kids of all ages that is safe, fun and where kids can grow in their understanding of God’s love.

KidsParty!

Currently, we have a program called KidsParty, for kids ages 2 years old to 10 years old.

Two adults stay with the children and lead a bilingual

program with games, crafts, singing and Bible stories. Kids stay to enjoy worship with their parents and then go to KidsParty after worship ends. We are busy finding and training more leaders for kids ministry; hopefully we'll start a creche for children from infant to age 2 years very soon!

We've divided the children up into two age groups:

2-5 jaar - Vogeltjes (Little Birds)

6-10 jaar - Eekhoorns (Squirrels)

(Youth - Teens get together every 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month at Espressemente Baton, a restaurant upstairs from the church.)

Vineyard Amsterdam Parents Letter Spring 2012

Dear Vineyard Amsterdam parents/ care-takers,
The children are making friends at Kids Party, growing in confidence and freedom to express their love for God and pray for others. It’s a joy to be part of their lives.

We have continued to experience growth in our church attendance in the past months! It’s been great to see our children bringing some of their friends along to Kids Party as well as some new families visit us on Sundays. A few weeks ago the great news broke out that we have seen God’s generous provision for a new place to gather as a church on Sundays! This is especially good news to our children; they will have two spacious rooms to have fun and learn through play, dance, singing... In the mean time since we are waiting to move to the new location we have been starting with the children right at the beginning of Meeting Point at 11 o’clock with our own kids program.

About the Move and Easter

On the 1st of April, Palm Sunday, we will gather at Herengracht 88, our current location, for Meeting Point. The children will have their own program from 11 o’clock till around 11.45 when they will lead the way as we as a whole church will walk together over to the new location, Keizersgracht 102 (which is just a block away from our current venue). As we arrive to the new location the children will join the church worship celebration.

Easter Sunday, the 8th of April will be our first whole Meeting Point at the new space de Rode Hoed, Keizersgracht 102. This will be a special Easter celebration which is especially geared towards our family and friends who normally do not attend the church. The children will have an Easter egg hunt and much more fun (and at the same time chance to explore the new building they are in!). Feel welcome to join us to celebrate the wonder of the Cross with your beloved ones.

As you arrive to the new venue, your child(-ren) can join you in the main hall for all church worship until the announcer will invite the children to move on to their own program. At the back of the meeting hall the Kids Party Leaders will meet the children and walk with them to upstairs where the children’s program will be held. If your child is younger than 3 years old, or you are new at the church, by all means, feel free to accompany your child to their Kids Party room. We ask all the parents to come and collect their child(-ren) at the end of the service (when the last song is played and the preacher closes the service with a prayer). Thank you for considering the children’s leaders and the safety of the children!

Invitation to CHANGE: family prayer day, 14 April

King’s Kids (a ministry of YWAM Amsterdam) organizes a family prayer day as part of the global prayer day for children (www.global414day.com). This is an inspiring, fun and powerful time of prayer and worship through music and play for children from 4 to 10 years old and their families. Various churches are involved and invited to take part. We will start on Saturday the 14th of April at 11am and finish by 1pm, the program includes pancakes for lunch! The location is Prins Hendrikkade 50, 1012 AC Amsterdam, in the basement of Dwaze Zaken café. For more information contact Kaisa: kaisasten@hotmail.com or tel. 06-4783 1251.

It’s great to partner with you as parents on this journey of helping the children to put their trust in God, who loves them with a deep, real love. Be blessed in your wonderful calling of parenthood and know that we are praying for you and your child(-ren).

Warmly,
Kaisa Stenberg
